Privacy Policy

Parks Radar ("we", "us") operates the website at www.parksradar.com. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site and how it is used. We try to keep this simple: Parks Radar is an informational tool and we do not ask you to create an account or hand over personal details.

Information we collect

We do not collect names, email addresses, or account information, because the site has no sign-up. We do not run our own analytics database of individual users. The dates, parks, and travel windows you enter (for the calendar and trip planner) are processed in your browser to produce a result and are not stored on a server we control.

Testing changes to the site

When we test a change to the site (for example a short animation on the home page), your browser may be placed in one version of the test at random. That choice is kept only in your browser's own storage. Your browser then sends at most four anonymous counts for the whole test: that it saw the home page, whether it opened a park page on that visit, whether it came back within 14 days, and whether it skipped the animation. A count contains the test name, the version and the day you first arrived, and nothing else: no identifier, no address, no page history. We keep only daily totals, which anyone can read at /experiment-report. No count is taken if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, or if you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland.

A second test works the same way when you use Build my day on a park page: your browser may be placed in one version at random (with or without a short note on how the planned day ends), and it sends at most three anonymous counts: that it built a plan, whether it came back within 14 days, and whether it added or dated a day at that park in your trip on that visit. No count is taken under the same signals or in the same regions. Its totals are at /experiment-report?plan=payoff-day-01.

Telling us how busy a park was

If you planned a park day in your trip, the home page may ask once, in the two weeks after it, how busy the park was. If you tap an answer, your browser sends the park, the date and your answer (quiet, typical or busy), nothing else. We add it to that park's daily total next to the crowd forecast we had published before the day, and keep only the totals. A park page shows what visitors said once five have answered; the answers never change a forecast. If you tap Not now, nothing is sent.

Cookies and advertising

Parks Radar displays ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.

If you are in the EEA, UK, or a region with similar rules, you will be asked for consent before personalized ad cookies are set, where required.

We may also work with other advertising networks and header-bidding partners. Every company authorised to sell ads on this site is listed in our ads.txt file, and its cookies and use of data are governed by its own privacy policy. Where we run our own ad auctions, we do not sell ad space to a visitor who sends a Global Privacy Control signal or a US opt-out string, and we do not do so for a visitor in the EEA or UK unless a consent tool has recorded their consent to advertising. Ads appear only on pages with substantial written content, below the main content, and are labelled "Advertisement".

Affiliate links

Some outbound links on Parks Radar, for example, "Get Tickets" buttons, are affiliate links. If you buy a ticket or product after clicking one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. These partners may set their own cookies to attribute a purchase. This does not change the price you pay. Parks Radar is an independent guide and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any park or resort.

Third-party data sources

To show live ride wait times and weather, the site requests data from third-party services such as queue-times.com (ride waits) and Open-Meteo (weather). When your browser loads that data, those services may receive your IP address as part of the standard request. We do not send them any other information about you. Crowd levels, hours, and weather shown on Parks Radar are model estimates, not official or live park data, always confirm on the official park website before booking.

Your privacy choices (GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA/CPRA)

Parks Radar does not sell your personal information, and you do not need an account or to give us personal details to use the site.

If you post in a park discussion or vote in a poll, we store what you submit. To limit spam we also keep a one-way hash of your connection address (and, on posts, of your browser type), not the address itself. We delete those hashes 30 days after they were created and our spam-limit counters after 2 days. The posts and votes themselves stay until removed; to ask for yours to be removed, use the contact details below. Mail you send us is handled as ordinary email.

Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU and UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) may give you rights over your personal information. These can include the right to know what is collected, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. Advertising and affiliate partners set their own cookies, so the most direct way to use the advertising choices is through the opt-out links in the advertising section above and your browser's cookie settings. Children

Parks Radar is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
